Upgrade to the new Firefox 3, just released and ready for download.
New features of the software include new web API's, improved SVG support, CSS enhancements, greater memory usage, better performance and higher speed. Further features will be added as the free Mozilla browser is developed. The public preview of the browser is available in more than 45 languages.
One of the main changes to Mozilla Firefox 3.0 is that it will implement Gecko 1.9, an updated layout engine. Firefox 3 will be the first Mozilla browser to be approved by Acid2, a standards-compliance test for web-page rendering, and will also gain a higher score than Firefox 2 on the Acid3 test.
According to NetApplications, the usage share of Firefox 3 Beta has been steadily increasing and reached 0.62% in May of this year. NetApplications claims that this increase indicates the stability of Firefox 3 betas and that people are using Firefox 3 Beta as their primary browser to surf the web.
